Aptus Speech Clinic was founded to help close the gap in speech therapy service provision for adults in Ireland. We specialise in the treatment of neurological conditions.
The Aptus Speech Clinic currently offers clinic sessions in Clonee, Co. Meath and Dundrum, Dublin 14. Home visits are also available upon request.
We seek to make speech therapy more affordable by also offering long-term home programmes and group therapy.
We also provide conversation partner training workshops for family members of individuals who have communication and/or swallowing difficulties following stroke or brain injury.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER​

Hello, I'm Lorraine. I am a certified Speech and Language Therapist with solid clinical experience. I have worked as a Speech and Language Therapist in the National Health Service (NHS) in the South East of England, most recently as the lead therapist in an outpatient speech therapy service in North London.
I specialise in the treatment of adults with acquired neurological conditions (i.e. Stroke, Brain Injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease).
I am passionate about the use of technology in speech and language therapy. I have acted as a consultant to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) on matters of technology. I was lead author of the RCSLT CQ Live guideline on the use of apps in Speech and Language Therapy.
I am also the founder of Aptus Speech Therapy, a company which makes speech therapy apps for adults and children with communication difficulties. (www.aptus-slt.com)
